Volunteering
Volunteers are the lifeblood of our Society; without them we would not exist. We rely on volunteers to freely give their time and effort to present our attractions to the public. Volunteers play an essential part to maintain and conduct general improvements to the site . On open days, our Society requires essential tramway locomotive drivers and guards together with ore roasting kilns and museum guides. Volunteers to cater for special tour groups. Volunteers generally enjoy greeting and meeting visitors and their value is immeasurable to not-for-profit organisations like ours. They make a strong contribution to the development of a healthier, safer and more successful community and district. In working to preserve our heritage, they significantly raise the sense of national identity and belonging. Anyone interested in giving their time are welcome to join our friendly and dedicated team of volunteers. Full training is given for the respective roles and a duty manager is in charge on operating days. If you would like to help our organisation by becoming a volunteer, please contact us. |
